Grown from the dry desert landscape of Las Vegas, Nevada, Rusty Maples captures the spirit of the West with its well-crafted blend of tender lyrics, classic themes and energetic, folk-inspired pop songs. In 2012, Rusty Maples released its second EP, Make Way, drawing comparisons to bands like The Lu
ineers, Mumford and Sons and The Walkmen. Taking the albums title literally, brothers Blair (vocals) and Ian Dewane (guitar), Mike Weller (bass) and Max Plenke (drums) embarked on a tenacious grassroots tour, bringing its music cross-country and garnering an organic following throughout the United States. Voted Best Live Band of 2013 in the Las Vegas Weekly Readers Choice Awards, Rusty Maples headlined SXSWs inaugural V2V, Life is Beautifuls homegrown stage and was featured on Spike TVs Bar Rescue. The band was also chosen as an official SXSW band for 2014 and plans to release a full-length album shortly after the festival.
